Charles Rankin Letter 1861

The following paper came home with Charlie 

Rankins effects from the camp at Arlington, Va. where

he died 1861.

         Resolution adopted by June 14th 1861

 by the *d squad of company F of the 2d 

Regiment of Mich. Infantry.  

1st Resolved   Meeting called to order 

by Dewstoe . Bostwick appointed Chair-

man.  Kelly appointed Secretary.

1st Resolution.  Resolved that no willful profane 

swearing be allowed in this squad

2d Resolved that all card playing 

be abolished.

3d Resolved that a committee of 

three be appointed to see that the above 

resolutions be observed and order + regularly  

be observed generally office to last one 

week.  Committee for first week Ploss 

Dewstoe + Bostwick.

        No more business necessary to be done 

        the meeting indefinitely adjourned.
